The Alberta Legislature recently paved the way for the creation of a multi-operator online gambling market by passing Bill 16. This legislation recognizes the provincial government’s right to independently manage the gaming industry, allowing private operators to compete with Play Alberta, operated by Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC), the only gaming operator in the province.

He also pointed to a recent study that found Alberta’s economy could grow twice as fast as the national average, which presents a significant opportunity for the gaming industry.
