The Danish Gambling Authority (Danish Gambling Authority) has published (https://www.spillemyndigheden.dk/en/news/gambling-market-numbers-2024-see-statistics-and-key-figures-past-year) its annual report showing that the market grew by 5.4% to reach €1.5 billion, up from €1.4 billion in 2023. Growth was seen in four of the five main segments, with only betting showing a slight decline.

Since 2012, when the gambling market was partially liberalized, the share of the online segment has grown from 31% to 68%. Denmark also ranks fifth in Europe in terms of the share of legal online gambling (91.5%), behind only Italy, the Czech Republic, the UK and Bulgaria.
